When starting out on your health and fitness journey it’s important to not get overwhelmed with focusing on the small things that don’t really matter. Instead focus on the big things that are going to make the most difference.
Rocks (The things that actually matter and make a huge difference)
- Eat protein and veggies at every meal.
- Drink plenty water
- Get at least seven hours of deep restful sleep a night
- Move daily (10k steps a day) Daily walks for the win
- Pick up and move heavy stuff around at least 3 times a week. Strength training for the win
- Do physical activity you enjoy at least at least once a week (gardening, swimming, hiking walking, etc.)
Pebbles (The things that don’t really matter and make very little difference)
- Having the perfect workout gear
- Having the perfect supplement stack or a supplement stack at all
- Doing every exercise possible
- Doing copious amounts of cardio year round
- Being perfect or overly restrictive with your diet and having no joy and life
- Being overly concerned with nutrition timing
- Being overly concerned with what time a day to train
- Being overly concerned with the perfect warm up or cool down routine
*The perfect program is one you can actually adhere to on a consistent basis. Find one for your goals and stick to it.
